Event One
Join One Day at a Time for Family Field Day! Hosted by Jemm Merrit (they/she), Kaliq Alexander (he/him), and Adrian Williams (he/him).
Come out on Sunday, October 5th, 2025, from 12–2 PM at Merrick Moore Park for an afternoon of joy, connection, and play! This free event prioritizes BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities; however, all families are welcome. We ask that everyone honor and uphold our community agreements listed below.
We know “family” means different things to different people, so bring whoever makes up yours. Pack your snacks and goodies, hang out, and enjoy games, laughter, and community as we kick off this new journey together.
Liability forms will be available on-site for those joining the field games, with digital forms sent in advance.

Our Community Agreements &
Parent/Guardian Partnership Statement:
We keep us safe. For real. Please read in full.
● Respect All Identities– We honor and affirm all races, genders, sexual orientations,
abilities, religions, cultures, and family structures.
● Use Kind Words & Actions – We communicate with care, embracing differences with
curiosity rather than judgment. We encourage intentional communication by asking
people their names and pronouns and being mindful of how and if we inquire about
observed differences, such as physical ability, hair, or other personal attributes.
● Listen & Share Space – Everyone deserves to be heard. We take turns, make room for
all voices, and ensure everyone has a chance to participate.
● No Harmful Language or Behavior – This is a brave and joyful space. Bullying,
violence, discrimination, microaggressions, and hate speech will not be tolerated.
● Consent & Boundaries Matter – We ask before touching people or their belongings
and respect when someone says no. We also honor and care for the physical spaces we
occupy, ensuring we do not touch or take anything without permission. Maintaining
strong relationships with our community partners means keeping their spaces clean and
in good condition.
● Celebrate Stories & Community – We uplift diverse voices, enjoy learning, and have
fun together!
If a community agreement is violated, the first step will be a direct conversation with the parent or guardian, and potentially the child, to call them in, address the harm, and find a resolution. If the action is severe, it may result in being asked to leave the program or activity.
We greatly appreciate your support in helping your children uphold our community agreements. We kindly ask that you actively monitor and guide them in this space to ensure a positive and respectful environment for everyone. Your involvement is crucial in fostering a supportive community.
Thank you in advance for your partnership!
